The story of Pokidol began with a simple experiment by its founder.
Before founding Pokidol, he had worked with 3D technology for many years. At the time, 3D modelling and printing were mainly used in professional fields — architectural models, mechanical models and various forms of industrial modelling. The focus was on precision, structure and manufacturing. These designs carried no personal or emotional meaning.
That changed as his wedding approached.
For the first time, a technology he knew so well began to mean something entirely different to him.
The founder was raised by his grandmother from a young age. To him, she was far more than simply a grandparent. She had been there throughout his childhood, watching him grow up little by little. But when the time came for his wedding, his grandmother, who lived back in his hometown, was already elderly and no longer physically able to make such a long journey. It became a shared regret.
His grandmother wished she could see the child she had raised from such a young age dressed for his wedding and beginning a family of his own. And he wished deeply that she could be there to witness such an important moment in his life. He often imagined that, if she were there beside him, she might embrace him just as she had when he was a child, smile and say:
“Hey, my little boy. You’ve grown up. I wish you every happiness.”
If his grandmother could not come to the wedding, he began to wonder whether he could use the technology he knew best to bring a part of his wedding to her instead. Using multi-angle image capture technology, he recorded himself and his bride standing together in their wedding clothes. Through digital modelling and full-colour 3D printing, he then transformed that moment into a small and precious sculpture.
For the first time, the same 3D technology that had once been used to create architectural and mechanical models was no longer simply about precision, structure and manufacturing. It had begun to carry a person’s longing, a family bond, and a moment that deserved to be witnessed.
If 3D technology can capture every detail of a machine or a building, why can’t we use it to capture the people we love and the moments in life that deserve to be remembered?
That small experiment made him realise something for the first time. Technology could do more than reproduce form — it could preserve love, connection and the moments that shape our lives. That idea eventually became the beginning of Pokidol.

For centuries, sculptures were often created for kings, leaders, famous figures and those whose names would be recorded in history. For most ordinary families, the ways in which we preserved our lives were much simpler. Once, it was through albums filled with photographs. Later, it was photographs stored on our computers. Today, it is thousands of images kept on our phones. Technology has changed the way we record our lives, and we hope it can also change the way we preserve our memories.
With the development of 3D imaging, digital modelling and full-colour printing technology, having a sculpture of your own is no longer something beyond reach. You do not need to be famous, nor do you need to be remembered by history, to deserve a sculpture of your own. You simply need a moment that is worth remembering to you. It might be a wedding, a milestone birthday, graduation day or an anniversary. It might be a time when your children were still young, or a rare occasion when the whole family was together. Or it might simply be an ordinary day spent with your parents, your partner, your friends or a beloved pet. Because the moments that truly make up our lives are often the ones that seem ordinary at the time, yet can never be lived in quite the same way again.

How We Create Your Sculpture
Every Pokidol piece begins with a real person and a real moment. Using multi-angle 3D image capture technology, we record the person’s appearance, pose, clothing and details, and use this information to create a full-colour three-dimensional digital model. Our design team then carefully refines and enhances the model — from facial features, expression and hairstyle to clothing textures and overall proportions — so that the finished piece represents the real person as naturally as possible.
Once the model has been approved, we use advanced full-colour 3D printing technology to produce the sculpture. It then goes through post-processing, hand-finishing, colour inspection and quality control before your personalised sculpture is complete.
The technology behind the process is complex. But for us, technology has never been the ultimate purpose. It is simply the means by which we help an important moment remain, in a tangible way, by your side.
When you first receive your Pokidol sculpture, you may see it as something beautifully made, interesting and unique.
But what matters more to us is what it may mean many years from now. Ten years, twenty years, or even further into the future, when you pick it up again, you may see far more than a sculpture.
